Harry Franklin Baker, 69, of Springfield Township, Mercer County, died at 6:10 a.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Callery, Feb. 5, 1939, he was the son of Ira Franklin Baker and Sophia Grace Allen Baker Turner.

He was a graduate of Grove City High School and had worked at Westinghouse Corp. of Beaver as an electrician.

Mr. Baker formerly attended Leesburg Presbyterian Church.

He loved kayaks and was a member of Lake Arthur Boating Club. He also enjoyed woodworking and hunting.

Surviving are three nephews, Bruce Baker and his wife, Chrissy, of Mercer, Randy Baker and his wife, Laurie, of Boiling Springs, S.C., and Jeff McMinn of Rochester, N.Y.; a niece, Sherri McMinn of Philadelphia; his mother of Volant; a sister, Shirley McMinn and her husband, Burton, of Cooksville, Tenn.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Baker of New Wilmington.

He was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Herman "Peg" Turner; and two brothers, Joe and Ralph Baker.

<B>BAKER</B> — Friends of Harry Franklin Baker, who died Monday, June 2, 2008, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 1778 Perry Highway, Leesburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Gomola, pastor of Leesburg Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
