Sarver resident and photographer Frederick Doerfler will have one of his photos showcased at the International Nature Photography Competition & Exhibition, which opens Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Arcadian Gallery in Cumberland, Md.

The selected photo, “Brother and Sister Playing,” was taken at Bandhavgarh National Park in India, and shows two tigers playing with each other. It was one of 80 photos selected for the exhibit, out of 800 photos submitted, according to the Arcadian Gallery.

The exhibit spotlights high-quality nature photography from 48 different photographers, including well-known professional photographers and others showcasing their work for the first time.

Doerfler is the President of the Pittsburgh Photography Club and a member of the Photographic Society of America, as well as a primary care physician in Tarentum.
