Crosby still skating, not cleared for contact

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby skated with his teammates for the second time in less than a week on Thursday but his return from concussion-like symptoms remains uncertain.

Crosby participated in the non-contact portion of the hourlong session, but coach Dan Bylsma said there’s no change in Crosby’s status. The 24-year-old Crosby hasn’t played since the concussion-like symptoms resurfaced following a loss to Boston on Dec. 5.

Crosby had the option of skating with injured forward Tyler Kennedy before practice, but instead decided to join the active Penguins to get a feel for playing on crowded ice. He still has not been cleared by doctors for contact.
