Joseph T. McGeever
Joseph T. McGeever, 90, of Valencia died Tuesday evening at his home.
Born Sept. 21, 1917, in Homestead, he was the son of Thomas and Anna Dunlap McGeever.
He and his wife were the owners of McGeever's Shoe and Clothing Store in Mars for years.
He was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of the Mars VFW Post 7505, the Cranberry Elks and the Mars American Legion.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean Benton and her husband, Larry, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Kathy Davis and her husband, Clayton, of Lexington, Ky.; and four grandchildren, MichaeleneBenton of Valencia, Jay and Andrew Benton, both of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Thomas Benton of Sandy, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen R. Katilius McGeever, who he married Aug. 12, 1944, and who died May 22, 2007. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret McGeever and Catherine Miller; and two brothers, James and JohnMcGeever.
