Elizabeth McCandless
Elizabeth "Betty" McCandless, 85, of Villa Drive died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home.
Born July 24, 1922, in Ottawa, Ill., she was the daughter of Michael Protch and Anna Pollack.
Mrs. McCandless was a rivet heater at Pullman Standard during World War II and retired from the dietary department at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was a former member of the Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church and the Moose Lodge Women's Auxiliary and a former volunteer at Butler Memorial.
Mrs. McCandless is survived by two sons, Robert P. (Lisa) McCandless and William M. (Marty) McCandless, both of Butler; five grandchildren, Kenneth, Bethann, Rachel, Sara and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Kristen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. "Bus" McCandless, who died in May 1977; a sister and two brothers.
