Joseph M. McDermott
Joseph M. McDermott, 59, of Seven Fields, Mars, formerly of Penn Hills, died Tuesday morning at his residence.
Born in Clearfield, Nov. 20, 1948, he was the son of James McDermott and the late Judy Mann McDermott.
Mr. McDermott was an attorney with the law firm of Cohen and Grigsby in Pittsburgh. He held bachelor's and master's degrees from Penn State University and was a member of the Alumni Association and received his law degree from Duquesne University.
He was a member of the St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars. He also belonged to the Pittsburgh Ski Club, the Clearfield Elks and the Seven Fields Zoning Hearing Board.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Michele DeCesare McDermott, whom he married May 19, 1973; a son, Joseph J. McDermott, a student at Penn State University; his father of Clearfield; three sisters, Diane Mathews and Kathy Nannery and her husband, James, all of Seattle, Wash., and Lynne Dudurich, and her husband, Randy, in Virginia; and nieces and nephews.

McDermott, who died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. There will be no visitation on Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, Mars, with the Rev. Charles Bober officiating. A second Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Clearfield.
