Lt. Col. Arthur Ramsey

Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Arthur R. Ramsey, 85, of Valdosta, Ga., died Saturday at the South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness.

He was born in Zelienople, March 27, 1923, to the late Arthur G. and Laura May Stauffer Ramsey and had lived in Valdosta for the past three years.

Mr. Ramsey was a Presbyterian.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur II and Teresa Ramsey of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Brian Mangels of Valdosta; grandchildren, Sandy Smith, Chris Bennett, Bill Bennett, Colby Mangels, Jacquelyn Mangels and Jake Mangels; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Elizabeth Ryles Ramsey.

<B>RAMSEY</B> — Graveside services with full military honors for Arthur R. Ramsey, who died Saturday, July 5, 2008, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Macon Memorial Park in Macon, Ga.Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Cancer Center in Dunwoody, Ga.The <B>Carson McLane Funeral Home</B>, Valdosta, is handling arrangements, and condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
