Proper Toppers
In September 1972, the three types of headgear worn by Scouts were modeled at the fall Skill-O-Ree at the Anderson farm in Penn Township. From left are Bill Rotella, Troop 58, Cooperstown, in traditional campaign hat; Gary Hughes, Troop 34, Penn Township, in a new red beret that had just been adopted as regulation; and Gary Shields, Troop 310, Slippery Rock, in the popular field cap. More than 400 Scouts attended the event, representing 31 troops.
