PITTSBURGH — Duquesne University's Small Business Development Center is hosting a seminar on doing business in the European Union.
The seminar is being held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 22 at the university's Rockwell Hall, Room 505. Cost to participate is $75 per person, including lunch.
EcoMundo, an agency based in France, will present a workshop for U.S. manufacturers and suppliers on the ins and outs of environmental labeling requirements in the European Union.
Mary McKinney, director of the Small Business Development Center, said in a news release that a better understanding of the EU labeling requirements will help local manufacturers and exporters who make or send things like paint and toners, varnishes, cosmetics, plastics, electronics, pharmaceuticals, automotive components, chemical substances, coatings, packaging materials, ink, apparel, adhesives and machinery.
Speakers will include Olivier Le Curieux-Belfond, a REACH labeling compliance expert with EcoMundo; Steven Murray, international trade specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce; and representatives of Duquesne's Center for International Regulatory Assistance and the Society of Chemicals Manufacturers & Affiliates.
