Clarice Bell DeWoody, 95, a life-long resident of Seneca, Venango County, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday in her home.

Born July 18, 1913, at the McCalmont Farm on Bredinsburg Road, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Grace Moore Bell.

Mrs. DeWoody joined the Seneca United Methodist Church on April 12, 1925, and has been a member for 84 years. She was active in the church and taught Sunday school there for many years.

She enjoyed baking, cooking and canning.

Mrs. DeWoody was a homemaker and was devoted to her family and friends.

She was married on Sept. 27, 1942, in the Seneca United Methodist Church, to James L. DeWoody, who preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1996.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn A. Rottman and her husband, Carl, of Petrolia, and Kay E. Kehm and her husband, Kenneth, of Georgetown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Renee Rottman and Brian Rottman, both of Petrolia, Lisa Brodmerkel and her husband, Donnie, of Georgetown, and Aaron Kehm of Coraopolis; and one great-grandchild, Cameron Brodmerkel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Feeda Stover; her twin brother, Carl Bell; and another brother, Eugene Bell.

<B>DEWOODY — </B>Friends of Claire Bell DeWoody, who died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the <B>HILE-BEST FUNERAL HOME, </B>2781 Route 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, Venango County. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert H. Wilson, pastor of Seneca United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Brandon Cemetery, Cranberry Township, Venango County.Memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca United Methodist Church, 196 E.
