Dixie L. Bowser Sauer

Dixie Lee (Bowser) Sauer, 71, a Coraopolis resident most of her life, passed away Wednesday at Sewickley Valley Hospital.

She was born in Butler, Nov. 19, 1937, one of two children of the late Donald and Alice (Kepple) Bowser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Bowser.

Dixie, always fun loving with a quick-witted sense of humor, was a social member of the Coraopolis Moose and the VFW, where she enjoyed bingo.

For more than 20 years, she worked at the In-Flight Kitchen at the Greater Pittsburgh Airport. After, she owned and operated Dixie's Place on Fourth Avenue in Coraopolis. It was a variety store, where you could meet and greet friends, enjoy a fresh brewed cup of coffee with your doughnut as well as buy a novelty or candle.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Beverly Ann Sauer of Coraopolis.

<B>SAUER</B> — Visitation for Dixie Lee (Bowser) Sauer, who died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Copeland's funeral home</B>,<B> </B>867 Fifth Ave., Coraopolis, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. John Sweitzer officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery in Chicora.
