Tommy L. Shields

Tommy "Tom" Lamont Shields passed away March 21 at the age of 66 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Florida.

He was born July 26, 1942, in Butler County to parents Lois and Lamont Shields.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Shields, whom he married Aug. 10, 1963; his daughter, Debbie Shields Kanner and her husband, Randy; and two grandchildren, Ryan Thomas Kanner, age 13, and Regan Marie Kanner, age 10. While the Kanners lived far away in miles, they were always close in his heart.

Tom graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1960 and Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh in 1962.

He was employed for many years by West Penn Power in Greensburg, Ridgway and State College, all in Pennsylvania. After moving to Carrabelle, Fla., in 1991, he became a real estate agent with Folks Realty in Franklin County for a number of years.

Tom enjoyed fishing, country music, motorcycle riding, collecting antiques and antique cars, playing cards and spending time with his two dogs, Taffy and Ebby.

<B>SHIELDS</B> — Funeral services for Tommy "Tom" Lamont Shields, who died Saturday, March 21, 2009, were held March 24 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Florida.A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, P.O. Box 729, Lanark Village, FL 32323.Tom, you will be greatly missed by your family and friends. You are in our hearts forever.
