Blackhawk 27, Mars 13 — There will be no "Blackhawk Down" here.Running back Austin Miele has done an admirable job filling in for the injured Shane Kaclik and John Brake has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the area, but Blackhawk is just too dangerous and too talented for Mars.•

North East 24, Slippery Rock 16 — The Rockets hope to avoid the "Grapepickers of Wrath."NorthEast has won nine straight games after a season-opening loss at the hands of Greenville. The Grapepickers have marched through their schedule since.North East has a lot of weapons, led by running back Jeff Carniewski and quarterback Curtis Bailey.You want weapons? How about the Rockets' Jono Powell, who rolled up more than 250 yards of offense last week in a loss to Greenville.•

Karns City 33, Kane 12 — Not even Rosebud will save this "Citizen Kane."The Gremlins are coming of an upset win over previously unbeaten and third-ranked Wilmington.Kane has a quarterback named Kenny Kane — how's that for fitting? — but it struggled in a 7-6 win over Cameron County last week.The Wolves gained just 56 yards in that game — and won.I haven't seen Cameron County, but I have to believe Karns City's defense is better. That doesn't bode well for Kenny Kane or Kane Kane.•

Moniteau 28, Brookville 14 — This game might come down to the "The Replacements."Or, in this case, a replacement.Moniteau quarterback Tyler Armagost is doubtful with a bad bruise. That means James Shope — yes, the running back James Shope — will at least start the game at QBfor the Warriors.If he flops, Moniteau coach Jeff Campbell might sub in the rest of the team. Keanu Reeves may even get a call.The last time these two teams met, Moniteau put a 42-7 beatdown on the Raiders.This game will be closer, but even sans Armagost, the Warriors should win.•

Erie

Cathedral Prep 22, Grove City 8 — Speaking of Keanu Reeves, this one could come down to "Speed."Erie Cathedral Prep has a ton of it — certainly more than Grove City.But the Eagles have a staunch, consistent defense that has bottled up virtually every opponent on its schedule.Grove City can't afford to fall behind in this game — the Eagles are not built to rally from a deficit.The first 24 minutes will go a long way toward determining the outcome in this one.In other words, if Grove City takes its foot off the gas — boom.Scoop was 2-3 last week, is 73-30 on the season and should watch more football and less celluloid.
