Cunningham

Rotha Roberta Cunningham, 89, of Chippewa Township, Beaver County, died Thursday afternoon at her home.

Born June 4, 1919, in Grove City, she was the daughter of Raymond J. and Urla Buxton Lightner.

She was a great homemaker and she worked for 20 years at the Hostess Gift Shoppe in Beaver.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and she enjoyed her home and family.

She was a 1937 graduate of Grove City High School. She was a member of the Plain Grove Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Inean Cunningham of Chippewa Township; a daughter-in-law, Marianna Cunningham of Austintown, Ohio; a son-in-law, Keith Hortert of Chippewa Township; two grandchildren, Stacy Pilutti and her husband, Mike, and Howard Cunningham and his wife, Lesa; and six great-grandchildren, Steffi, Jack, Paige, Brittany, Alexis and Paxton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Cunningham, whom she married Nov. 24, 1939, and who died Jan. 10, 2003. Also preceding her in death were a son, Bill Cunningham, and a brother, Jim Lightner.

<B>CUNNINGHAM</B> Friends of Rotha Roberta Cunningham, who died Thursday, April 23, 2009, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant. Additional visitation will be two hours prior to the 1 p.m. Monday service at the funeral home. The Rev. Herbert Goetz, pastor of her church, will officiate.
