Man facing drug charges, again
Just weeks after posting $100,000 bail to be released from the Butler County Prison on felony drug charges, a 29-year-old city man is back in jail.
Mark A. Carter is facing a new set of felony drug charges filed Friday morning. But this time, he’s jailed on $1 million bail.
According to the criminal affidavit written by state police, Carter and two woman from Philadelphia were arrested at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Butler Township Thursday night.
Inside a hotel room, investigators allegedly seized a large amount of heroin, crack cocaine and paraphernalia indicative of drug packaging.
Carter is charged with four counts of drug possession with intent to deliver, as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. District Judge Sue Haggerty, who arraigned him set Carter’s bail at $1 million.
Carter, who has a previous record, was most recently arrested June 28 when police allegedly found hundreds of bags of heroin, a dozen bags of crack cocaine and more than $7,600 during a raid at a home in the 300 block of East Brady Street.
