Albert John Oesterling, 80, of Slippery Rock, passed away Thursday at his residence following an illness.

He was born Sept. 20, 1928, the son of Floyd and Mary (Lucas) Oesterling.

He enjoyed traveling and was proud to say he traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast and back again 19 times in 19 years.

Surviving are his wife, Janet Lorraine (Eyth) Oesterling, who he married Oct. 1, 1949; three daughters, Mary Jane Critchfield (Harold) of Butler, Judith Sousie (William) of Malone, N.Y., and Dorothy Louise Chichetti (John) of Meherrin, Va.; three sons, Albert George Oesterling (Lori) of Loomis, Calif., Edward Charles Oesterling (Margie) of Meherrin, Va., and Ronald Paul Oesterling (Sherri) of Brushton, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and four sisters.

He was preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, one brother and one sister.
