Sophie C. Krauchuk, 90, of Butler passed away Tuesday at her home.

Born in Great Belt, March 6, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Max and Louise Sider Luthner.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son, Gerald Krauchuk, of Butler; two daughters, Nancy Krauchuk of Butler and Mrs. Terry (Cynthia) Smith of West Sunbury; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter C. Krauchuk, who passed away in 1983; one brother; and one sister.

<B>KRAUCHAK</B> — Friends of Sophie C. Krauchuk, who died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
