Ultramodern Taco Bell coming to Route 8 plaza
BUTLER TWP — A Taco Bell restaurant is coming to the Greater Butler Mart.
The 1,700-square-foot restaurant will be built on the site of the former Country Town gas station, which was demolished last week.
Ben Roth, senior associate at CBRE in Pittsburgh, said the fast-food venue will be a “new prototype building,” which means the design will be ultra-modern.
“This isn't an old-school, back-in-the-day building,” Roth said. “It's really cool.”
He said the McDonald's restaurant next door will sacrifice its Dumpster area and six parking spaces to accommodate the full-service Taco Bell and its drive-thru.
Parking for both restaurants will be extended into the shopping center where it borders Litman Road, Roth said.Taco Bell will build the restaurant and lease the site from the Litman family, which owns the mart, through CBRE.Pending permitting from the township, Roth hopes a groundbreaking will be held in the spring and the project completed by summer.Prep work at the site will be ongoing until construction begins, Roth said.
