Mary Jane Rottman
Mary Jane Rottman, 95, of Willow Road, Karns City, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot, following failing health.
She was born in Perry Township, Armstrong County, June 8, 1914, and was a daughter of the late Abner C. Shakley and Rena L. Barger Shakley.
She was a Protestant.
She married Ludwig "Lou" Rottman on Aug. 21, 1940, in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Lou Michael and her husband, Bernard L., of Fairview in Butler County; a son, Robert A. Rottman and his wife, Catherine, of Willow Road, Karns City; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Emma Faith Rottman in 2002; five brothers, Dale Shakley, Samuel Shakley, William Shakley, Abner Shakley and Edgar Shakley; and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Morris, Mrs. Pauline Ray and Mrs. Martha Barger.
<B>ROTTMAN</B> — Friends of Mary Jane Rottman, who died Monday, June 15, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home </B>in Petrolia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. James A. Higgins, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora, officiating.
