Trade show expected to attract thousands
GROVE CITY — The 14th annual Grove City Trade Show is always a popular late winter activity.
Beth Black, executive director of the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce, said she thinks the show is popular because it gives people a chance to get out of the house and enjoy a community event.
“I think it’s a nice break from the winter,” Black said.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Physical Learning Center on Grove City College’s campus. Entry to the show is $1 for people age 18 and older and free for people younger than 18.
Black said she expects between 2,000 and 5,000 people to attend.
She said there will be more than 100 vendors at the show.
“We’re still getting them in,” Black said.
She said that there are different and new vendors every year, in addition to longtime vendors.
“There will be lots to see,” Black said.
She said many vendors have given the chamber good feedback about the event. She said many say they get new clients from the show, and that is why they keep coming back.
“(Some vendors say) that this is their biggest source of referrals for them,” said Black.
Black said many vendors offer special trade show deals, either with coupons, flyers or deals for buying products or services at the show.
The chamber will sell raffle tickets for the annual Trade Show Grand Prize Giveaway. The prize is a $2,000 “money tree.” The tree, which is really just a drawing of a tree, is 5 feet tall and has the logos of sponsors written on it. The winner of the raffle will get a check for $2,000.
Tickets for the raffle are $1 each or $5 for six.
Parking will be available on college lots along Madison Avenue. Two shuttles from the lots to the show will be provided by the Trinity Living Center and North Liberty Presbyterian Church.
