Laura E. Pflug
Laura E. Pflug, 104, of Harmony died Monday at the Ellwood City Hospital.
Born Oct. 14, 1904, at her father's farm in Fombell, Franklin Township, Beaver County, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Wolf) Pflug.
For the past six years, she has lived at the Trinity Oaks Personal Care Home in Ellwood City. Prior to that, she lived at the Maple Court senior citizens building in Zelienople, and had lived in Harmony for 40 years.
She attended the Old Furnace School, which was a one-room school near where Hereford Manor Lake now is and attended Zelienople High School for several years.
All her life, she did house cleaning at many homes in the Zelienople and Fombell areas.
Ms. Pflug was a member of St. John's United Evangelical Protestant (Burry's) Church, where for many years she led the choir and taught Sunday school from 1922 to 1996. She sang in the choir for 50 years.
Laura is survived by a niece, Marjorie Mulvey and her husband, Roscoe; a nephew, Francis Pflug and his wife, Arlene; and six great-nieces and great-nephews, Mary Johnson, Martha Mine, Kathy King, Susan Frerotte, Ann O'Donnell and Dale Pflug. Also surviving are 11 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and 12 great-great-great-nieces and great-great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roy; and a sister, Bertha.
<B>PFLUG</B> — Friends of Laura E. Pflug, who died Monday, July 20, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
