Sharon Kay Garlow, 65, of Butler, formerly of Royal Oak, Mich., died at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday in the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born July 2, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Bruce Walbridge Ferres and the late Dorotha Elizabeth Logan Ferres of Kokomo, Ind.

She received her masters in social work, from Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich., in 1996.

Ms. Garlow was a retired social worker for McComb County, Mich.

She was a Roman Catholic, and she liked singing and dancing.

Ms. Garlow is survived by one daughter, Melinda Garlow Baker of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; four sons, Larry Nutt II of Utica, Mich., Michael Nutt of Harrison, Mich., Timothy Garlow of Marquette, Mich., and Jeffery Nutt of Marquette, Mich.; two sisters, Kathleen S. Treme of Butler, with whom she made her home and received her care, and Jeanne Kauffman of Terre Haute, Ind.; one brother, James B. and Mae Ferres of Indiana; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; nine nieces; seven nephews; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ms. Garlow was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa D. Nutt, in November 1967.
