In Saturday's paper I liked a few items in the editor's jeer about the newest elected member of the county commissioners, but have to disagree with him. Specifically where the jeer discredits the how the commissioner asks in public meetings about the use of funds that the editor considers small amounts. First, I think that any dollar amount should be part of the meeting process in these economic times. Open up those county fiances for the public awareness and let us see how the money works. Apparently our newest commissioner isn't the only one on our bill to be trained in county operations. But in keeping to the backward Butler mindset where $200 can be a small amount, I ask for a matching donation so I could contribute it to the Christmas parade. In fact, matching donations for a dozen other charitable voters would be appreciated to help the Butler Eagle from pulling out as the main sponsor. The last news on the parade I read was it may become Butler's past history. I bring up the parade because it is relevant to my jeer of the editor when what may seem so small makes a difference when many amounts add to the bill. But I do like the publicity the editor brings to the meetings, it's more attention and the voters can decide if this commissioner stays on the board.
