Larry R. McCormick, 65, of Zelienople went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday surrounded by his family.

Born Oct. 23, 1943, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Sadie (Miller) McCormick of Harmony and the late Lawrence H. McCormick.

Mr. McCormick served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he was a member of the Zelienople American Legion.

He retired after more than 30 years as a computer programmer for the Bayer Corp., where he was responsible for writing the program code for the main frame computer.

Mr. McCormick enjoyed researching his family genealogy. He also enjoyed working with his hands, including home remodeling projects and electrical work, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He was a member of Grace Church of Harmony.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ann (Cooper) McCormick, who he married June 24, 1967; two sons, Michael McCormick, D.D.S. of Cranberry Township and Matthew McCormick of Cranberry Township; two brothers, Leslie McCormick and his wife, Kathryn, of New York and Ronald McCormick and his wife, Monica, of Cranberry Township; a sister, Shirley Cookson and her husband, Ronald, of California; a brother-in-law, Tony Cooper and his wife, Carroll, of Zelienople; and two sisters-in-law, Lyda Posvar and her husband, Dr. Edward, of California and Rebecca Saunders and her husband, Frank, of California.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Richard Hoffner.

<B>McCORMICK </B>— Friends of Larry R. McCormick, who died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter J. Everett, his church pastor, officiating.
