Richard S. Eiler
Richard S. Eiler, 78, a 35-year resident of 329 College Ave., Grove City, died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday at his home after an 18-month illness.
Born in Middle Lancaster, May 8, 1931, he was the son of William W. Eiler and Mildred Scott Eiler.
He married Gail Milner on March 1, 1975.
Mr. Eiler retired in 1996 from Grove City College, where he was in the maintenance/plumbing department for 19 years.
He was a member of First Church of God, Grove City.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was an avid pigeon fancier for years, loved all sports and enjoyed hunting.
He was a graduate of Zelienople High School.
Surviving are his wife, Gail at home; three daughters, Carol E. Moore and her husband, Brad, of Maryland, Ellen E. Golliher and husband, Bill, of Colorado and Brenda S. Eiler of Colorado; a son, Scott C. Schwartzman and his wife, Gretchen, of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Caleb Moore and Daniel and Christa Schwartzman; and a sister, Alice Lewis and her husband, James, of South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David G. Schwartzman; and a sister: Lois Peffer.
<B>EILER</B> — Visitation for Richard S. Eiler, who died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Avenue, Grove City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gene Worline, pastor of First Church of God, Grove City, officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
