3:43 p.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Valerie Claypool, 43, of Butler and Madeline Freehling, 72, of Saxonburg collided at South Main and West Brush streets.Freehling complained of chest pains following the accident and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.Neither driver was charged in the crash.Both cars were towed from the scene.11:27 p.m. Wednesday — Joshua A. Lieberum, 32, of Butler was charged with simple assault after an altercation with a 20-year-old woman in a parking lot along Kaufman Drive.Police responded to the scene on reports of a verbal fight between a man and a woman.When they arrived, Lieberum told police he and the woman were arguing about money. The woman told police that Lieberum put his hands on her neck and began strangling her. She had red marks on her neck consistent with the claim.2:39 a.m. Wednesday — Stephanie A. McCormick, 32, of Butler was charged with criminal trespass and possession of instruments of crime after police found her allegedly trying to break into the Burger Hut on North Main Street.Police responded to the restaurant on reports a woman dressed in all black was doing something in the doorway. When officers arrived on scene, they found McCormick there, wearing a black face mask and two pairs of black gloves. She also had needle nose pliers.Police noticed the windows on the door of the restaurant were smashed out and arrested McCormick.The woman eventually admitted to police she was attempting to break in to vandalize the restaurant in retaliation for the restaurant firing her boyfriend.
6:48 a.m. Thursday — A two-car accident occurred at the intersection of Route 308 at Halston Road in West Sunbury.The cars were driven by Nellie J. Rackov-Tokich, 60, of New Castle and Rylie A. Dunn, 24, of West Sunbury.2:28 a.m. Thursday — Brandon D. Overbo, 24, of Fenelton was arrested for suspected DUI along Route 8 in Center Township.6:03 a.m. Wednesday — Shane A. Heinle, 27, of Cabot lost control of his tractor trailer and crashed into an embankment along Winfield Road in Winfield Township due to an ice-covered road.2:36 a.m. Sunday — Jordan C. Borek, 26, of Butler was arrested for suspected DUI along Hansen Avenue in Butler. Charges are pending a blood test.6:20 p.m. Feb. 2 — Grant B. Harding, 37, was arrested for suspected DUI after police found him looking underneath his car stopped in the middle of North Duffy Road in Center Township.When police approached Harding, he stated that he had just run over three people crawling on their hands and knees across the road.The officer did not see any signs of such an incident.
10:15 p.m. Thursday — Three men face charges after an altercation between two tow truck workers and an intoxicated Freeport man occurred at the intersection of Northpointe Boulevard at Babel Road in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.Jeffrey A. Durst, 38, of Freeport got into a fight with John R. Gillette, 49, and John R. Gillette Jr., 21, both of Natrona Heights, when the Gillettes were attempting to tow his vehicle.The elder Gillette restrained Durst against his will with a pair of handcuffs during the altercation.All three men face charges of harassment. Gillette Sr. also faces charges of unlawful restraint, while Durst was arrested for suspected DUI following the incident.3:37 a.m. Thursday — Sherry A. Bartl, 35, of Worthington was charged with DUI after she crashed her car along Craigsville Road in West Franklin Township.10 a.m. Saturday — Multiple known suspects allegedly entered a mobile home along Iron Furnace Road in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, removed several items, then burned them in a pile in the front lawn of the residence. The suspects also stole some of the items.
