Olive Mae Cope, 88 of Fayette City, Fayette County, passed from this life Sunday in her home with her family by her side.

She was born June 19, 1921, in Fayette City, a daughter of the late John Lindey and the late Phyllis Davies Lindey.

She was a seamstress during World War II and later become a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Paul "Gus" Cope, who she married Feb. 14, 1942; a son, the Rev. Paul G. Cope, pastor of the Mars Alliance Church and his wife, Connie Schleh Cope, of Mars; two daughters, the Rev. Donna Lee Hoover, pastor of Abide in the Vine Fellowship and her husband, the Rev. Fred Hoover, of Apalachin, N.Y.; and her adopted daughter, Dawn Hickey LaFrate of Clinton Township, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Sandra Cope and Karen Cope; two brothers, Lewis Lindey and Stanley Lindey; and three sisters Mary Jolley, Lavina Jones and Phyllis Hickey.

<B>COPE</B> — Friends of Olive Mae Cope, who died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, will be received in from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Eley-McCrory Funeral Home</B>, 334 Main St., Fayette City.Additional viewing will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fayette City Alliance Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastor Bryan Cinelli officiating.
