Edward J. Weyman, 92, of Zelienople died Monday at his home surrounded by his family.

Born Oct. 10, 1916, in Jackson Township, he was the son of the late Adam and Jennie Mae (VanHorn) Weyman.

Mr. Weyman was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Reformed Church, where he was treasurer of the Sunday school and served as a deacon and elder.

He was a farmer, and he retired from the J&L Steel Corp. after 40 years.

A World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, he proudly traveled the Burma Road during the war and was awarded two Bronze Stars.

Mr. Weyman was a member of the Zelienople American Legion Post 474, and he was a member of the Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM for more than 25 years.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and softball.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Saraellen (Griffin) Weyman, who he married July 5, 1941; a daughter, Sue Hamilton and her husband, Wesley, of Lancaster Township; and a son, Jim Weyman and his wife, Linda, of Honolulu, Hawaii. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Weyman; and five brothers, Harold, Roy, Ernest, Harry and William Weyman.

<B>WEYMAN</B> — Friends of Edward J. Weyman, who died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 314-320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti, his church pastor, officiating. Friends please meet at the church.
