11 a.m. Jan. 17 — Keith G. Singleton, 55, of Butler, allegedly took a friend's pickup and did not return it. The victim, who lives on the 400 block of West Penn Street, told police that he let the defendant borrow the pickup, according to court documents.Police said after speaking to the owner of the truck, they tried unsuccessfully to contact Singleton. Police entered the pickup in the National Crime Information Center database. The vehicle is described as a red, 2005 Ford Ranger with the Pennsylvania license plate ZMD6360. It also has a red cap on the bed with strckers on the rear window.Singleton is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
10:29 p.m. Tuesday — Austin L. Ehrman, 22, of Butler, was arrested on 31 charges following a police pursuit in Butler. Police said they initially saw Ehrman traveling on East Locust Street near North Monroe Street in a car with blue head lamps and illegally tinted windows.Ehrman subsequently began speeding and turned off the headlights as police followed him, according to court documents. He is accused running numerous stop signs as police pursued him. During the pursuit, police said, the car was driven in the center of the road on several occasions.The suspect eventually stopped on Howard Street. Police arrested Ehrman. He was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police and reckless endangerment. He also was arraigned on 29 traffic violations.Among those violations were driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without lights to avoid identification arrest, 11 separate counts of failing to stop at a stop sign, six counts of failing to keep right, two counts of failing to use turn signals, driving too fast for condition, careless driving and reckless driving. Ehrman is free on $10,000 bail.Tuesday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Ryan S. Wade, 34, of Butler, stemming from an incident Jan. 15 during which he allegedly threatened a woman with a pocket knife in a vehicle in the area of Route 173 and Route 8 near the Old Stone House museum in Brady Township. No one was injured in the incident.The woman told police that she was driving the vehicle and Wade was in the passenger seat. He pulled out the knife and opened it, and threatened to cut her into pieces and stick it in her heart, according to court documents.She eventually drove to the suspect's home. Wade got out and the victim, fearing for her life, locked the doors and drove away, Wade is charged with aggravated assault, a felony, and terroristic threats and harassment, both misdemeanors.9:38 p.m. Jan. 17 — Zachary A. Jarrett, 29, of Portersville, was arrested after an altercation with police at Lake Arthur Estates in Muddy Creek Township. He is charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.4:09 p.m. Jan. 16 — No one was injured when a vehicle driven by Jeffrey A. Everetts, 56, of North Washington, collided with another vehicle on East Unity Road just north of Porter Road in Cherry Valley. Joyce A. Buchanan, 58, of Butler, was the other driver.Police said that after stopping, Everetts fled the scene. He is charged with several traffic offenses including hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, failing to stop and give information and render aid after an accident, abandoning a vehicle on a road, driving with a suspended license and a stop sign violation.
