Paul

William F. "Bill" Paul, 84, of Zelienople died Tuesday at Ellwood City Hospital.

Born May 29, 1925, in Arnold, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Della (Rodnite) Paul.

Mr. Paul was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Zelienople, and a member of the Tunica Manor Chor German Club.

He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of Zelienople American Legion Post 474.

Mr. Paul was a 1943 graduate of New Kensington High School and a 1950 graduate of Westminster College, where he played on the basketball and golf teams and was member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

He was an avid sports fan, especially golf, and owned and operated Paul's All Sport Spot in Zelienople for 32 years. Before operating his own business, he was a salesperson for a number of companies.

Mr. Paul was a member of the Zelienople School Board; and following the merger of the school district, he was a member of the Seneca Valley School Board for 42 years. He was also a 25-year board member of the Westminster Towering Titans organization.

In 2007, Mr. Paul was honored by the Zelienople community as grand marshal of the Zelienople 4th of July parade.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice Lee (Craig) Paul, who he married June 21, 1952; two sons, William "Craig" Paul of Seven Fields and David L. Paul of Gibsonia; a brother, Richard T. Paul and his wife, Marilyn, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and a sister, Ruth Strathen and her husband, John, of Clearfield.
