James B. McDonald

James Bruce "Slim" McDonald, 80, of 1906 Coffee Run Road, Pulaski, Pulaski Township, Lawrence County, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle.

Born in Aliquippa, Feb. 25, 1929, he was the son of James McDonald and Twila Ruby McDonald.

He married Evelyn Ekas on Feb. 8, 1975.

He was employed at Erie Enterprise as a mechanic and welder, and he was a member of Union Local 207.

He served with the Army in the Korean War.

He loved to work and was a welder for all local racetracks. He also was a NASCAR fan.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn McDonald at home; a daughter, Jean Ann Knatz of Wampum; two grandchildren, James and Kimberly; and a sister, Peggy Cregg of Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

<B>MCDONALD</B> — Visitation for James Bruce "Slim" McDonald, who died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, where services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Albert LeMay, retired from the Church of God of Anderson, Ind., officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society..
