George F. Tiche

George F. Tiche, 82, of Goff, near Boyers, passed away unexpectedly at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at his home.

He was born April 15, 1927, in Goff, Marion Township. He was the son of the late Michael Tiche and Elizabeth Magyar Tiche.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in Europe.

He was a member of the Eagles Club, the American Legion, the VFW and the Valley Dam Snowmobile Sportsman Association.

He retired from the Social Security Administration, and he owned and operated the family business, Tiche Cannel Coal, in Goff all of his life.

He enjoyed his days at the coal tipple visiting with family and friends around the pot belly stove. He also enjoyed playing cards. He loved his dogs, his family and his many good friends.

He is survived by one son, Woodrow Jones of North Carolina; one grandchild; and countless nieces and nephews.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by two sisters and eight brothers.

<B>TICHE </B>— Services and burial in Old Annandale Cemetery for George F. Tiche, who died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, were private.Arrangements were handled by the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home </B>in West Sunbury.
