Dorothy A. Phipps

Dorothy A. Phipps, 87, of Sterling Heights, Mich., died Wednesday.

She was the beloved wife of the late Alton Phipps; loving mother of Pastor A.C. (Nita) Phipps of Sterling Heights, Mich.; proud grandmother of Ryan (Andrea) Phipps of Pittsburg; and dear sister of Lawrence (Claire) Sweet of Comfort, Texas.

Mrs. Phipps was a member of the Evanswood Church of God in Troy, Mich.

She and her husband served as lay ministers at the North Main Street Church of God in Butler for 10 years. They were both very active in their church and always generously opened their home to family and friends.

<B>PHIPPS</B> — The first memorial service for Dorothy A. Phipps, who died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 19 at the North Main Church of God, 1201 N. Main St., Butler. A second memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Evanswood Church of God in Troy, Mich. Inurnment will be in the Gruenwald Cemetery, Summit Township.Memorials are suggested to the Evanswood Church of God, 2601 E.
