Donald J. McDermott
Donald J. McDermott, 79, of Sarver died Thursday at Fairwinds Manor.
Born May 10, 1930, in Sarver, he was the son of Paul and Emma Pearl (Bowser) McDermott.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was a self-employed truck driver and was a lifetime member of the Saxonburg V.F.W. 7376 and Cabot United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie (Allison) McDermott, who he married April 9, 1965; three sons, Donald J. McDermott of Portland, N.Y., William (Kathleen) Yockey of Melborn, Fla., and David Yockey, Jr. of Sarver; two daughters, Cynthia McDermott of Morovia, Md., and Peggy Sue (Daniel) Mohan of Sarver; a brother, Howard (Jean) McDermott of Sarver; a sister, Doris Rieder of Bruin; and 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert McDermott; a sister, Carrie Marie Hawk, and a granddaughter, Michaela.
