John W. Thrower
John W. Thrower, 82 of Saxonburg died Monday at Alle-Kiski Medical Center.
Born Jan. 6, 1927, in Saxonburg, he was the son of William and Robirda (Brewer) Thrower.
He was the founder and owner of John W. Thrower Inc.
He was a member of the Saxonburg Fire Department, the Masons, the Scottish Rite, the Syria Shrine and the Saxony Shrine Club.
He enjoyed hunting.
Surviving are his son, John W. Thrower Jr. of Saxonburg; his daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Diana) Christy of Saxonburg; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Eva Pflugh and Edith Smith, both of Saxonburg; and his best friend, Dixie Szumigalski of Saxonburg.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Madeline "Madge" Thrower, who died in 2004.
<B>THROWER</B> — Friends of John W. Thrower, who died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, with the Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating.
