Michelena Vincze
Michelena Louise Vincze, 81, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Old Westbury, N.Y., died Tuesday at the Trinity Nursing and Rehab Center, Merriam, Kan.
Born Aug. 18, 1929, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josefa (Mroczkowska) Witkowski.
Mrs. Vincze, along with her husband Zsigmond, built their own home, brick by brick, in Old Westbury, N.Y.
She was a former president of the PTA and was the former co-president, with her husband, of the Parents Club of the Air Force Academy. Among many other charitable works, Mrs. Vincze was a member of the Mercy League in Long Island, N.Y. After moving to Overland Park, Kan., she taught religious education classes for a number of years.
She is survived by her husband, Zsigmond M. Vincze of Overland Park, Kan.; five children, James (Janet) Vincze of Ann Arbor, Mich., Diana Vincze of Thornton, Colo., Robert (Sarah) Vincze of Andover, Kan., Edward (Kathryn) Vincze of Virginia Beach, Va., and Richard Vincze of Mission, Kan.; a sister, Esther “Tootsie” Puls of Marriottsville, Md.; and 11 grandchildren.
