Thompson

Nellie L. Thompson, 89, formerly of East Butler, died at 1 a.m. Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Tarentum, April 17, 1920, she was the daughter of Patrick M. Barry and Leona P. Lawther Barry.

Her husband, Robert E. Thompson, died April 18, 2001.

She was a homemaker and an avid quilt maker.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Berean Sunday School Class. She always was ready to serve hospitality when needed in her church or at her home. She also belonged to the Butler County Historical Society.

Surviving are two daughters, Joann and her husband, Robert, Dittmer of Butler and Linda and her husband, Chris, Wilker of Butler; two sons, Raymond E. and his wife, Patricia, Thompson of Butler and Harvey A. and his wife, Pearl, Thompson of Butler; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a sister, and a brother.

<B>THOMPSON </B>— Friends of Nellie L. Thompson, who died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor David Maitland of the First Baptist Church officiating.
