Vichich

Michael F. Vichich, 90, of Zelienople, formerly of Danville, Ill,. died Wednesday at UPMC Passavant hospital, McCandless Township.

Born June 10, 1919, in Calumet, Mich., he was the son of the late Michael and Rose Vichich.

Mr. Vichich was a 1948 graduate of Michigan Tech in Houghton, Mich., earning a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

In 1984, he retired from General Motors, where he had been a mechanical engineer.

He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Danville, Ill., where he was an usher and greeter, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His memberships in Danville included the Golden Kiwanis, the Rotary, the Elks Lodge, the VFW and the American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, John Vichich (wife, Robyn) of Cranberry Township and Edward Vichich (wife, Sanja) of Naperville, Ill.; a sister, Mary Moleski of Houghton Lake, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Robert and Megan Vichich, Kristina and Michael Vichich, Michael R. and Michele Vichich and Tony and Joe Vichich; and two great-granddaughters, Abigail and Sophia Vichich.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maude (Francone) Vichich; a son, William Vichich; three brothers; and a sister.
