Genevieve Marie Johns Rumbaugh, 96, formerly of North Chestnut Street, Butler, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday in the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on Dec. 22, 1913, in Widnoon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Johns and Lillian Springer Johns.

Mrs. Rumbaugh was a homemaker, but during World War II, she assisted in the war effort by working at the American Bantam Car Co. in Butler.

She belonged to the New Testament Baptist Church of Butler, and she was a member of AARP.

Mrs. Rumbaugh is survived by her son, Malverne C. "Mal" Rumbaugh and his wife, Nancy, of Butler; one grandson, Clifford T. Rumbaugh of Butler; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rumbaugh was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Rumbaugh, who passed away March 28, 2000, one grandson and two brothers.
