Artwork by Kyle Nevel opens Friday in the Mezzanine Gallery along with three other exhibits at the AABC.

A "Futuristic" exhibit opens Friday in the Rittelmann Gallery at the Associated Artists of Butler County Art Center, 344 S. Main St.

The new exhibit represents a variety of artists at different points in their career. All work represents what life will be like in 10, 100, 1,000 or a million years, including fashion, technology, environment, music, film, aliens, spaceships or galaxies.

Opening festivities will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Admission is free.

The opening reception will feature entertainment by Pittsburgh's Guitar Zack from 8 to 9 p.m. Also during the opening will be artist demonstrations by Brian Goncus, who will be airbrushing, and Tom Doner, from the Glass Blowing Center, who will be demonstrating flame working.

Awards will be announced at 8 p.m. on The Spirit Café stage.The judge for "Futuristic" is Glenn Wonsettler, who has been part of the administrative team at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh as its visitor services department manager since 2004.Also opening Friday are exhibits in the other three galleries at the Art Center. In the Members' Gallery will be work by Douglas Wynn; in the Mezzanine Gallery by Kyle Nevel; and in the Underground Gallery by Brian Roy.All four exhibits continue through July 11.Regular gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, noon to 9 p.m. Fridays, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.Admission continues to be free.For more information, call 724-283-6922 or visit the Web site, www.butlerartcenter.net.
