'Seinfeld' writer salutes growing up in the 1970s
PITTSBURGH — City Theatre will present "The Wonder Bread Years" as "Seinfeld" writer Pat Hazell's salute to the baby boomer generation.
The one-man show about being an American kid in the 1970s will be performed by John Mueller starting July 10 in the City Theatre's 110-seat Lester Hamburg Studio.
With the fast pace of stand-up comedy plus audience interaction, "The Wonder Bread Years" will be performed in an open-ended summer run.
The show looks back with fun and fondness on the school days, food, toys, holidays, and vacations of this era. Remember milk money, Dorothy Hamill's haircut, Toughskin jeans, taking film to Fotomat, the flag at the end of the broadcast day?
Curtain is at 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, at 5:30 and 9 p.m. Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets are $35 for Thursdays and Fridays and $40 for Saturdays and Sundays.
