Capitol Steps will perform Sept. 12 at the Performing Arts Series at Slippery Rock University.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Capitol Steps, the comedy group that pokes fun at Washington, D.C., culture and politicians, will perform a combination of songs and skits on Sept. 12 in Slippery Rock University's Miller Auditorium.

U.S. Senate staffers formed Capitol Steps in 1981. The current group, taken together, has worked at 18 congressional offices for a collective 62 years on The Hill. Capitol Steps updates its material to reflect current events and politicians in the spotlight.

The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. as the first in the university's 2008-2009 Performing Art Series.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for those age 62 or older and 17 or younger, and $8 for SRU students. Call 724-738-2091.
