Butler artist Rebecca Rose and model Amber Thompson, also of Butler, are featured in the book, "Body Painting" which was to be released in August in both the U.S. and Europe.

"Body Painting" is a photo examination of the emerging art of painting bodies with non-toxic paints. From face painting children to the creation of painted "clothes", author Doug Mitchel follows ten national artists as they apply paint to skin.

Each artist is represented by one chapter, each chapter follows a "paint job" from the initial concept to the application of the final details. Each design is different, but all are colorful and creative.

With more than 450 color photographs, this book documents the techniques and tools used by established artists. Application methods include the brush, airbrush and even markers. Each method has advantages and disadvantages, each has its place and each is covered in detail in this new book from Wolfgang Publications.

In addition to the photo sequences with descriptive captions, each chapter includes an interview with the artist.

Rose has been practicing face and body painting for almost three years and has been working with Thompson for almost a year.
