The Butler County Symphony Association will host its "Symphony Idol" contest, a.k.a. the annual Young Artist Competition, at 2 p.m. Sunday at Butler County Community College's Succop Theater.

The 30th annual event will feature the competition between five of the area's college-age artists. Admission is free.

The winner receives $400 and the opportunity to perform at the March 14 concert of the symphony, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Also at the competition, an "audience favorite" will be selected and receive $100.
