"Downtown Pittsburgh Skyscrapers from Mount Washington" from the collection at the Carnegie Museum of Art is part of the retrospective of Aaronel deRoy Gruber photographs showing through June 27 at the Silver Eye Center for Photography in Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH — Silver Eye Center for Photography, 1015 E. Carson St., presents "The Analytical Eye: Photographs by Aaronel deRoy Gruber" on display through June 27.

Paying tribute to one of Pittsburgh's most prolific artists, Aaronel deRoy Gruber, this retrospective exhibition features more than 50 photographs. Gruber, who recently turned 90, is still actively creating fine art photography. Her images that range from picturesque panoramas of landscapes to industrial views of steel mills can be found in museum and corporate art collections throughout the country.

Celebrated for her artistic vision, Gruber employs photographic processes that range from traditional methods to the latest in digital technology. She is well known for utilizing techniques such as infrared photography and many of her prints are chemically toned and hand-painted.

This exhibition launches simultaneously with the premier of a new documentary film, "Aaronel deRoy Gruber — A Life in Art," showing at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Carnegie Museum of Art, 4400 Forbes Ave.

Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
