CRANBERRY TWP — The video “Dirty Jobs, Cranberry Style” was awarded top honors at the recent Water Environment Federation’s annual technical conference in Chicago.

The video got first place in the Operations Category and it tied for first place in the People’s Choice Awards category.

The township’s entry was 10 minute video about the inner workings of its wastewater treatment plant.

It includes a mock kayak voyage down the township’s main sewer line. It also include a tour of the facility with Mike Sedon, plant manager, along with some workers to explain the water treatment process from start to finish.

More than 40 video ideas and 22 finished productions were submitted to the competition.

The Water Environment Federation is a 36,000 member nonprofit organization representing water quality organizations all over the world, according to a release from the township.
