Rex Energy workers help youths at MHYADAMS TWP — For the fifth year, Rex Energy employees in Cranberry Township have adopted MHY Family Services’ youth to help for the holiday season.The Rex employees delivered a load of games, toys, gift cards, clothing, bedding and other holiday gifts to the MHY campus.“This collection is organized entirely by Rex employees,” said Connie Turner of Rex Energy. “We love it. They give us a list of needs and wants, and we are going to make sure wishes are filled.”MHY Family Services executive director Lisa Schiller said, “The entire MHY organization is incredibly grateful for the generosity of Rex Energy and their ongoing commitment to the youth and families we serve.”Schiller said MHY serves youths who have experienced trauma by providing residential treatment and educational programming. It offers services for hundreds of boys and girls aged 9 through 18 as well as services for families and adults.

Team Hardinger has new ownersGROVE CITY — An Erie-based transportation and warehousing services company with a facility in Grove City has changed hands.Team Hardinger and its subsidiaries, Hardinger Logistics and Schaal Realty, were acquired by Harold “H” Bender in a deal with undisclosed terms, according to a news release issued by the company.Bender, who is an Erie native, has been the company general manager since 2008, and shared ownership with co-founder William “Bill” Schaal Sr. since 2012.Schaal, who is approaching his 90th birthday, was seeking a successor to provide security for the company’s 175 employees. The company’s Grove City facility employs about 40 people.“I’m putting the company in good hands, and I’m confident we’ll see many more successes in the years to come,” Schaal said.The company will continue to follow its existing strategic plan, Bender said. Schaal, who is retiring, will continue to serve as a consultant and mentor, Bender said.Team Hardinger provides transportation, truckload brokerage, warehousing and foreign trade zone services for manufacturers and the food industry nationwide.

Kline Bros. Logging honored for workBOYERS — Kline Bros. Logging of Boyers recently was named the 2015-2016 Outstanding Loggers of the Year in West Virginia for Region 1.The award was given by the Outstanding Logger Program administered by the West Virginia Forestry Association.The company does most of its logging in several counties in northern West Virginia, according to a release.The award recognized best management practices including taking measures to prevent erosion, installing water control structures, planning road systems and felling trees safely.
