HILLSVILLE — A person killed in a fire that destroyed a rural Western Pennsylvania home may have called 911 from inside.

Officials say they received an emergency call around 12:30 a.m. today from a resident of the Mahoning Township, Lawrence County, home.

They say a second 911 call came from a passer-by reporting flames shooting from the roof.

A lack of hydrants forced firefighters to truck in water.

A fire chief performed CPR in the front yard.

The victim was pronounced dead at a hospital.
