Helen B. McCanch
Helen Betty Madl McCanch, 85, of Valencia died Saturday afternoon at UPMC Passavant hospital in McCandless Township.
Born in Pittsburgh, April 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence R. and Helen Hoffman Madl Sr.
Betty was a member of the St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Christian Mothers and sang in the choir. She also belonged to the Mars Women's Club.
She had worked as an accountant for Paracca Interiors.
Surviving are two daughters, Alayne Creese of Clarion and Caryn King (Lenie Dahlgran) of Comstock Park, Mich.; two sons, George McCanch of Cabot and William McCanch (Toni) of Leeper; and two brothers, John W. “Jack” Madl (Pat) of Cranberry Township and Donald C. Madl (Barbara) of Ligonier. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William McCanch, who died May 19, 1962; a brother, Lawrence Madl; and a sister, Peg Fuhr.
