Carl 'Kelly' McDonald
Carl “Kelly” McDonald, 59, of Ava, N.Y., formerly of Butler, passed away Friday at his home after a brief illness,
He was born April 16, 1951, in Butler, the son of the late Arthur and Doris (Brown) McDonald.
Kelly was a graduate of Knoch High School.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Cox on Oct. 7, 1976, in Butler.
He formerly worked as a mechanic and a farmer.
Kelly loved to travel and had travel coast to coast working with his brother, Arthur, in a heating and air conditioning business.
His real passion was car racing. He was a lifelong fan of all racing, from dirt track to NASCAR. He enjoyed the years of being a mechanic and pit crew member on Arthur's dirt track race team.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Brenda McDonald and Marsha McDonald, both of Ava, N.Y.; a son, Tony McDonald of Ava, N.Y.; and a brother, Arthur L. McDonald and his girlfriend, Sue Altman, of Cabot.
